In May 2023 Luton based Focus Sound and Light was engaged to install a upgraded commentary reproduction system to cover the spectator areas along the side of the iconic Santa Pod drag strip.  The existing 100v line public address system was approaching 40 years old and left quite a bit to be desired.

Chris Griffith of FSL designed a distributed system using the NEXT Audiocom T6 loudspeakers running the full length of the track.  Mounted using their included U-Brackets on top of the catch fence every ten metres for the first 400 metres of the track, increasing to every twenty metres after this point where ambient noise levels are reduced.

Chris comments "The T6's from NEXT were a perfect solution for this project, the fact they are equipped with compression drivers unlike almost all their competitors at the price point was a huge plus with such high ambient noise levels from the track"
